FlashScan Scan and Tuning Tool
All Tuning Tool options are packed with features that make
tuning fast, effective and most importantly, accurate.
The EFILive Tuning Tool can read the entire contents of a
PCM and store it on your PC’s hard drive. You can read and store as many
different vehicles as EFILive supports. The data is displayed in easy to
understand tables, charts or 3D surface models. With the help of the integrated
Scan Tool data, EFILive can quickly pinpoint performance and drivability
problems. EFILive will reprogram the PCM with all your changes, usually in less
than 35 seconds.
State of the art, rotating 3D surface maps are essential for
analysing trends, in three dimensions. The presentation of 3D surface maps is
an important visual cue that helps you determine the characteristics of the
calibration, at a single glance.
AutoVE tuning automatically corrects the PCM’s fuel
calibrations. Using data recorded by the Scan Tool, EFILive computes the
adjustments to restore accurate fuel delivery to within 0.5%.
Integration between the Scan Tool and the Tuning Tool allows
you to instantly pinpoint problem areas in the PCM’s calibration. When you
select a problem area in a log file, the selected data from the log file is
sent to the Tuning Tool and the Tuning Tool highlights the calibration cells
controlling the PCM at the time the problem data was logged. The integration
features can save a tuner, hours of diagnostic work.
FlashScan Scan Only
EFILive FlashScan Scan Only is for enthusiasts and
professional repairers, who need to retrieve fault codes, scan and log
high-speed data and diagnose faults using bi-directional controls. The EFILive
Scan Tool is may be used to scan and log as many vehicles as EFILive supports.
Black box logging gives you the freedom to log data under all circumstances
without a laptop computer in the vehicle. Wide band O2, 5V analog voltage and
thermocouple inputs allow you to integrate data from most external sensors
directly with EFILive’s logged data stream.
Specialty bi-directional controls such as Crank Angle Sensor
Error relearn (CASE), cylinder power balance test and manual idle control are
available in the EFILive Scan Tool.
Highly regarded as the premier Scan Tool for GM’s LS1/LS6
based PCMs, the EFILive Scan Tool is now available for Duramax diesels
(bidirectional controls for Duramax are not yet available).
EFILive FlashScan V1 Interface Cable
The FlashScan interface cable is included in all FlashScan product options. It has a number of unique and powerful features, not usually found in such a small, convenient package:
- Two built-in, 10 bit, analog to digital (A/D) converters that can be used to integrate wide-band O2 data directly with EFILive’s logged data stream. The FlashScan interface is not a replacement for a wide-band O2 controller. The A/D input on the FlashScan interface accepts the analogue voltage output by most wide-band O2 controllers. When not being used for wide band O2 duty, the A/D converters can be used to log any analog voltage from 0 to 4.8 volts.
- A cold junction compensated, k-type thermocouple input can measure temperatures from 0°C to 1024°C (32°F to 1875°F). Perfect for logging boost or exhaust gas temperatures.
- FlashScan can be used as a stand-alone black box data logger (no laptop required). Now you can record race laps, or a drag strip passes without carrying an expensive laptop in your vehicle. You can even scan multiple vehicles during a single session. Each time a new log is completed, FlashScan records the VIN and any diagnostic trouble codes that may be set. Each log file can be uploaded to your PC when you return to base and viewed at your leisure. You can log up to 23 minutes of high-speed data. Logging at slower rates or with less parameters means longer logging times.
- FlashScan’s Native USB support is essential in today’s world of laptop computers that no longer offer a traditional 9-pin serial interface connector. Connecting directly to your laptop’s USB port eliminates costly and unstable USB to serial converter cables.
